Stella McCartney, the renowned British designer and environmentalist, has been named first in the most-searched-for term in the fashion brands category in Google's Zeitgeist list.

The popular search engine’s other nine positions in the same category are being taken by Karl Lagerfeld, Victoria's Secret, Alice Temperley, Versace, Mulberry, Marks and Spencer, Ossie Clark, Burberry and LK Bennett, respectively.

The 41-year-old designer McCartney, daughter of former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney and late American photographer and animal rights activist Linda McCartney, has also won the respectable title of Designer of the Year and Designer Brand at the recently held British Fashion Awards.
